date night thumbIf you’re planning a date for Valentine’s Day, you’ll want to check out my earlier post to see how you can still have a nice night without spending a lot of money. One of my tips is to check out CityDeals for discounts on restaurants and movie tickets. The site provides hundreds of exclusive deals on restaurants, spas, entertainment, hotels, clothing, movie tickets, and more—many up to 50% off the everyday retail price. No membership is required and there are no extra fees associated. The gift cards and gift certificates are shipped directly to your door and coupons can be printed or sent to your phone via SMS text. Most deals are focused on Utah, but you can still find a lot of great national deals. Just type in your city and state and a list will pop up letting you know what’s available. New deals are added daily, so check in often to see what’s new. Plus, if you want to see a deal from one of your favorite brands, you can Demand-a-Deal and they’ll let you know when it’s available.

city-deals-logoHere are some good deals I saw today:

Buca Di Beppo – $20 gift card for $12 (one per household)

Prized Pearls – Get a Pearl Necklace, Bracelet, Earring Set for $45; a mother / daughter necklace set for $35; or a long necklace and earing set for $56

Craved Cupcakes – $25 gift certificate for $12 (I have my eye on their cake balls…although the name sounds a bit, um, dirty…they look delicious!)

Win It

CityDeals has provided me with 2 AMC Movie tickets and a $20 CityDeals gift certificate to give to one lucky reader. To win, you must visit their website and scroll through your local deals to tell me what you’d like to by with your gift certificate.

“Oh, The Places You’ll Go” End of School-Year Tradition

It’s not too much longer till the school year comes to a close, so I wanted to share this amazing idea I found on…you guessed it…Pinterest. You all know the book Oh, The Places You’ll Go from Dr. Seuss. It’s a great graduation gift. But, Lisa from Lisa’s Workshop suggests grabbing a copy when your kid is young. At the end of each school year, give it to your child’s teacher to sign or write a note. When you’re child graduates (hard to think of!), you’ll have a lovely gift to give him/her. Lisa has even included some lovely tags in her blog post, so make sure to go check it out.
