apple blossomJust before Christmas I had the opportunity to taste test some delicious apple blossoms from Chudleigh’s. Oh my goodness, these were amazing! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to tell you about it.

The website says they started as an individual size serving of apple pie and has become a world-wide phenomenon. After tasting them, I can see why. I tried the caramel apple blossoms and was pleasantly surprised at how much they tasted like homemade. The crust had a fabulous buttery flaky texture that just fell apart in my mouth. The blossoms are filled with Northern Spy Apples which are peeled and baked fresh daily to capture the unique freshness of the Ontario fruit. Then they’re topped with a buttery caramel that makes these treats darn near addictive. Fortunately, they come individually wrapped and can be prepared in the oven or the microwave…so you can make the entire box for entertaining, or just one (or two) for your own late night snack. Apple blossoms are available at Sam’s Club seasonly and sold under the Great Tastes label at Walmart.

cherry blossomI’m also really excited to learn that the cherry blossoms are scheduled to arrive in Sam’s Clubs nationwide in the next few weeks. (this makes me wish I had a Sam’s Club membership) Plus, Chudleigh’s is looking for taste testers. I can’t think of a better gig. Here’s what you need to do to become a taste tester: Visit Chudleigh’s on facebook and tell them in 30 seconds or less why you would be a great tester….then get your family and friends to vote for you. If you win, you’ll get a box of cherry blossoms to taste. The contest is over Sunday February 13, 2011 and the Cherry Blossoms will be shipped on February 15, 2011. You can click here for more details.

Let me know if you enter and I’ll stop by to vote for you!

“Oh, The Places You’ll Go” End of School-Year Tradition

It’s not too much longer till the school year comes to a close, so I wanted to share this amazing idea I found on…you guessed it…Pinterest. You all know the book Oh, The Places You’ll Go from Dr. Seuss. It’s a great graduation gift. But, Lisa from Lisa’s Workshop suggests grabbing a copy when your kid is young. At the end of each school year, give it to your child’s teacher to sign or write a note. When you’re child graduates (hard to think of!), you’ll have a lovely gift to give him/her. Lisa has even included some lovely tags in her blog post, so make sure to go check it out.
