Huggies_ArrowI’m still not convinced on the argument for cloth diapers over disposables…so I go with what works for us. But one thing I can’t deny is that by using disposable diapers, I end up throwing away tons of useless plastic wrap that’s used to package our diapers. That’s where eco-friendly innovator TerraCycle comes in. They have partnered with Huggies to help reduce the environmental impact of all this packaging by converting it into unique products such as tote bags and bibs! For every plastic package collected, TerraCycle will donate 2¢ to a charitable organization or school of the collector’s choice. It’s totally free to participate and the shipping is covered by the program. Click here to learn more.

Don’t worry if your family has passed the diaper stage, you can still get involved. TerraCycle transforms more than just diaper packaging. With more than 50 products available at major retailers like Walmart, Target, and Whole Foods, TerraCycle is one of the fastest growing eco-friendly manufacturers in the world. Click here to learn more about the various trash-collecting brigades you can join.

“Oh, The Places You’ll Go” End of School-Year Tradition

It’s not too much longer till the school year comes to a close, so I wanted to share this amazing idea I found on…you guessed it…Pinterest. You all know the book Oh, The Places You’ll Go from Dr. Seuss. It’s a great graduation gift. But, Lisa from Lisa’s Workshop suggests grabbing a copy when your kid is young. At the end of each school year, give it to your child’s teacher to sign or write a note. When you’re child graduates (hard to think of!), you’ll have a lovely gift to give him/her. Lisa has even included some lovely tags in her blog post, so make sure to go check it out.
