gift-cardsHave you had a chance to check out City Deals or CardPool yet? They have some great discounts available right now. (the stock tends to change rapidly as some deals sell out and new ones are added…so keep checking for your favorite deal) If you’re not familiar with these sites, here’s how they work:

City Deals provides hundreds of exclusive deals on restaurants, spas, entertainment, hotels, clothing, movie tickets, and more—many up to 50% off the everyday retail price. No membership is required and there are no extra fees associated. The gift cards and gift certificates are shipped directly to your door and coupons can be printed or sent to your phone via SMS text. Most deals are focused on Utah, but you can still find a ton of national deals. Just type in your city and state and a list will pop up letting you know what’s available. New deals are added daily, so check in often to see what’s new. Plus, if you want to see a deal from one of your favorite brands, you can Demand-a-Deal and they’ll let you know when it’s available.

CardPool is a service that lets you buy gift cards for up to 30% off or sell unwanted gift cards for cash. There are no additional fees associated with purchase, all orders and transactions include FREE SHIPPING and are covered by an extensive Purchase Guarantee Program. You don’t have to worry about fraud either, because Cardpool actually buys the gift cards directly from customers, verifies the authenticity and balance of each gift card, and holds on to them until a buyer is found.

Here are some good ones I found today:

CityDeals

Buca di Beppo – 40% off a $20 gift card (limit one per house). This is a great deal because you can also pair it with their save $10 when you spend $20 coupon.

Coldstone Creamery – 20% off a $20 or $25 gift card. Also good with coupons. (I personally recommend the Black Forest Dream in a waffle cup…it’s chocolate ice cream, cherry pie filling, brownie bites and chocolate syrup.)

CardPool (perfect for back to school shopping)

Aeropostale – 12% off. Plus, if you sign up for their e-club and get a free shipping code sent to your inbox, plus private “subscriber only” online promotions and automatic invitations to their Friends and Family In-store sales.

AMC Theatres – 20% off

American Eagle Outfitters – 13% off

Bed Bath and Beyond – 8% off. Plus, if you sign up for their e-club, you’ll get a 20% coupon sent straight to your inbox.

Cheesecake Factory – 9% off. Plus, you can use to to celebrate National Cheesecake Day.

DSW – 8% off. Plus, become a Rewards Member and earn points toward a $10 rewards certificate.

Express – 10% off. Plus, sign up for Express e-mail and get 15% off your next purchase.

Gap – 10% off. You can pair this gift card with one of the many discount codes going for the Gap, or get a coupon good for $15 off your purchase of $75 or more when you sign up for email alerts.

Macy’s – 8% off. Use this with a coupon from your weekly flier, or set a profile through their website and get $15 off an online order of $100 or more.

Old Navy – 10% off. You can pair this gift card with one of the many discount codes going for Old Navy, or get a coupon good for $10 off your purchase of $50 or more when you sign up for email alerts.

“Oh, The Places You’ll Go” End of School-Year Tradition

It’s not too much longer till the school year comes to a close, so I wanted to share this amazing idea I found on…you guessed it…Pinterest. You all know the book Oh, The Places You’ll Go from Dr. Seuss. It’s a great graduation gift. But, Lisa from Lisa’s Workshop suggests grabbing a copy when your kid is young. At the end of each school year, give it to your child’s teacher to sign or write a note. When you’re child graduates (hard to think of!), you’ll have a lovely gift to give him/her. Lisa has even included some lovely tags in her blog post, so make sure to go check it out.
