Discounted Gift Cards + Coupons = Big Savings

City Deals and Card Pool are just a couple of my new favorite websites for buying gift cards at a discount. The best part about these deals is that although the savings are somewhat limited, when you add it to store coupons and sales, you can really come out ahead. Plus, if you’re going to shop there anyway, you might as well save a bit of extra cash. (Note that availability and promotions vary by site, so it pays to visit often to see what they have.)
Here are a few deals I’d like to highlight for examples:
Gap and Old Navy gift cards are available through Card Pool for about 11% off. It’s not at all uncommon to see a discount code for at least 15% for both retailers…but you can usually find discounts as high as 25%. Hit the sales and you’ll save even more.
Border’s gift cards are available through Card Pool for a 12% discount. If you join their Rewards Program, you’ll get a coupon emailed to you just about every week.
Kohl’s gift cards are also available through Card Pool for a 12% discount. I don’t need to tell you about the plethora of sales and coupons available through this retailer…so the savings are unlimited. Just for signing up for their email alerts, they’ll send you an e-mail that’ll save you $5 off your next in-store purchase and 10% off your next Kohls.com purchase.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, City Deals has $20 Buca Di Beppo gift cards for 50% off. Pair this with their printable coupon to save $10 on purchases over $20 and you’ll save double.
City Deals is also offering $14 Domino’s gift cards for 20% off. Pair this with a coupon or their 2xTuesday Deal, which offers you a FREE large pizza when you buy another one at menu price.
Movie Theater gift cards are available through both City Deals and Card Pool…and with the price of tickets these days, you’d be a fool not to take advantage of as many deals as you can. See my earlier post, Get Free (or Deeply Discounted) Movie Tickets, to see how you can take full advantage of all the savings.
