gift-cardsJanuary and February are a few of the most popular months for people to sell unwanted gift cards online. Can you imagine why? Yup, they got one for Christmas and don’t want it. Here’s what happens: Someone gets a card they don’t want and sell it online at a rate that is less than its full value. It’s a good deal for people who otherwise wouldn’t have a use for the card. It’s also provides you with a great opportunity for you to save big. You can buy (or sell) physical cars, electronic card ans even a merchandise credit. When shopping online, I opt for for buying an electronic card because you can often get the gift card numbers (and PIN) instantly via email. So, if you find a good sale, head over and see if you can get an eGift Card at a discount to increase your savings. And, if you have a few unwanted cards of yourself, check out these sites to see what you can get for it.

Plastic Jungle – Sell an unwanted gift card for as much as 92% of the value (numbers vary depending on the retailer) and buy cards for as much as 30% off. Get paid instantly via PayPal, or Amazon Gift card.

CardPool – Sell an unwanted gift cards for as much as 92% of the value (numbers vary depending on the retailer) and buy cards for as much as 30% off. Get paid via check or instantly through PayPal, Facebook Credits or Amazon Gift card. CardPool also allows you to sell your gift cards electronically – no mailing required, or mail your gift cards using their FREE SHIPPING LABEL. (This site is my preferred choice for buying because they send electronic gift cards instantly.)

eBillme – this free site has partnered with top brand merchants to sell their gift cards with INCREDIBLE discounts. For example, you can get 10% Cash Back on retailers such as Zappos, Home Depot, JCPenney’s and more. The best part is that if you shop their gift card mall on Tuesdays, they’ll double your cash back…that’s 20% cash back on gift cards. Pair that with some coupons, and you’re saving big! NOTE: eBillme has changed their cash back policy on gift cards, allowing 10% on FIRST TIME BUYERS ONLY. As a result, I no longer recommend this site for saving on gift cards.

  1. Wow, these are great sites I never knew about, I didn’t even know you could re-sell gift cards. Plastic Jungle worked for me. Thanks Rebeca!

  2. PlasticJungle and Cardpool are the leading sites, but since only PlasticJungle offers instant PayPal payments, its usually my first choice. Thanks for this review!

“Oh, The Places You’ll Go” End of School-Year Tradition

It’s not too much longer till the school year comes to a close, so I wanted to share this amazing idea I found on…you guessed it…Pinterest. You all know the book Oh, The Places You’ll Go from Dr. Seuss. It’s a great graduation gift. But, Lisa from Lisa’s Workshop suggests grabbing a copy when your kid is young. At the end of each school year, give it to your child’s teacher to sign or write a note. When you’re child graduates (hard to think of!), you’ll have a lovely gift to give him/her. Lisa has even included some lovely tags in her blog post, so make sure to go check it out.
